Lesamy Week 71, Not Counting

This week I’ve achieved something that I’ve been trying to do for months. I lost weight whilst not counting calories. Sometime around last autumn I decided that I didn’t really need to count every calorie because I knew what my meals should look like. I am a creature of habit and so I have relatively few variations of meals. So I ought to be able to do my diet without the counting part. I tried this for months but I kept slipping up at the weekends and eating more. Not a fault of not counting but frustratingly not allowing me to prove it could be done.

Well since I’m now back on the straight-n-narrow I have shown it can be done. It’s mainly about sticking to regular reasonable meals and not having in-between snacks. It’s also about getting the exercise habit again. I’m back to walking every day which I think helps a lot.

Here’s the numbers:

loss this week: 2.4kg (5.3lb)
loss this year: 0.8kg (1.8lb)
Total loss: 24.7kg (54.5lb or 3st 12lb)
To target: 24.1kg (53.2lb or 3st 11lb)
Current weight: 119.4kg (263lb or 18st 11lb)

Lesamy Week 70, Zigging and Zagging

Don’t really want to spend a lot of time on this because – bleugh – I put on weight this week. It was all going so well until the weekend. Same old story of the past few months – although I thought I’d pulled myself out of that with my new year resolution re-start. Oh well. Start again…

loss this week: -1.7kg (-3.7lb)
loss this year: -1.6kg (-3.5lb)
Total loss: 22.3kg (49.2lb or 3st 7lb)
To target: 26.5kg (58.5lb or 4st 2lb)
Current weight: 121.8kg (268lb or 19st 2lb)

Lesamy Week 69 – Starting Over

Well not quite starting over because I’m still counting weeks from the original Lesamy start date. But let’s face it – I let things go. I let myself drift to the point where I not only stopped dieting, I stopped exercising and I sort of stopped caring. I was discouraged and not really sure why I was doing it any more – and that doesn’t help. But I realised I had a chance with the New Year to start again and so I took it.

As to where I am – taken since I started Lesamy I’ve lost weight, taken over the last week I’ve lost weight. Since this time last year? I’ve put on 3lbs. Of course over that time I lost a lot of weight – I was down nearly 3stone at one point – but I put it back on again. It’s scary a) how quickly the weight goes back on and b) how quickly I was back to my bad old eating habits. Maintaining is going to be harder than I thought. But for now I’m not thinking of that. For now I just want to start again losing weight. Fortunately I’ve done this before so I know how.
